The socialist presidential candidate in Peru celebrated victory today after being declared the winner of the national election, nine days after the vote took place.
Pedro Castillo appeared today on a balcony in the capital city of Lima, wearing a large white hat, and delivered a speech to supporters who had gathered there.
He won the election by only 45,000 votes more than his right-wing opponent.
