Today, the major Natanz nuclear facility in Iran was hit by a sabotag attack carried out by an unknown country.
The large facility is a key part of Iran’s nuclear program, housing advanced centrifuges that are central components of the nuclear program, whether for electricity production or potential atomic weapons.
The explosion cut off electricity to the facility and caused significant damage to the progress of the reactor.
The New York Times reported late Sunday night that the Israeli government was largely behind the attacks.
Iran had increased production at the facility just a few days ago, but operations have now come to an abrupt halt following the incident.
Reports coming out of Iran remain unclear. Some sources claim there were two explosions, but no reliable sources have yet confirmed this.
